Paul H. Monto

Paul H. Monto, 69 years old, of North Berwick, ME died Saturday morning June 26, 2004 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mr. Monto was born on April 15, 1935 in Brighton, MA. He was the son of Herbert and Ethel Welch Monto. Mr. Monto retired from the U.S. Air Force as Master Sergeant in 1977, and 13 years ago moved to Southern Maine along with his family.Mr. Monto was an avid gardener. Growing vegetables was one of his favorite pastimes, especially raising pumpkins for his grandchildren at Halloween. He loved to take rides, and give rides on his John Deere tractor. He was a genealogy buff, and loved to research things on the Internet for family and friends.His parents Herbert and Ethel Monto predecease him.Surviving is his wife of 43 years Irene Williams Monto of North Berwick, a daughter Lorraine and Robert Gerami of Milford, MA, a son Robert and Debby Monto of Sanford, ME; six grandchildren, Wayne, Autumn, Scarlett, Chelsea, Jazmyn, and Noah, a sister Alice "Honey" and Bob Brennan of FL, a brother Herbert "Butch" Monto of FL, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Rita Williams of the UK, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation for Mr. Monto will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2004 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME; where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 30th at 10:00 AM.In lieu of flowers the family request's memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
