11/17/25: Dear Martha, Ian, Sam, Greg & Adam: I live in SC now & just heard about Dick's passing tonight. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a shock. Dick was one of a kind. Super intelligent & funny--very charismatic--everyone loved him. I cherished working with all of you on his 1994 gubernatorial bid as his statewide grassroots organizer & we all had such great comraderie. I wish I could be there in person for the Nov. 18 memorial gathering for him in Portland, but I will be there in spirit. I learned a lot about politics from him and everyone on that great campaign. He really would've been a wonderful governor & should've run again!...I will miss him dearly. My mom adored him (& Dick came to her wake in 1999 at the Conroy-Tully Funeral Home in Portland). Rest in peace, Dick.
