Kris MacDonald Hall

kris hall
There are many lessons to be learned from how Kris lived his life. Kris MacDonald Hall, 55, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 the same way he lived: with courage, optimism and having a genuine concern for those around him. While he was struggling with leukemia, he never let his cancer define him. Instead, he turned the bad days around and focused on others, and when he was blessed with a good day, he took full advantage of it and lived it to its full potential. The story of Kris Hall began on January 19, 1966 in Portland, Maine. Kris was one of five children born to Philip and Roxanne Hall. Raised in Scarborough, Kris graduated from Scarborough High School, Class of 1984, and developed many life-long friendships and relationships with those in our community. Always known to greet friends with a smile and genuine interest in their lives, his body shop, Black Point Collision, was at times more of a social club. Friends and relatives would drop by unannounced to hang out, and he always stopped what he was doing to make time to visit. When work was top of mind, he was always meticulous and strived for perfection in every car he repaired. Above his work, hunting, and even his car, Kris loved his family and friends. He was a loyal and dependable friend who would drop what he was doing to help someone in need. To him, helping people and lifting people up was more important than anything else. This was especially true when he started dating the love of his life, Ann Marie Rousselle. They met years ago when each of their kids were young, and in the early years, Ann Marie became a regular at his body shop for various repairs to her car. Little did either of them know at that point, but they would eventually spend 10 short-but wonderful-years together. Together, Ann Marie and Kris loved to travel, spend time with family and friends, and they always held a special place in their hearts for the sunrises in Key West. They were each others' best friend. Kris' greatest accomplishment in life was being a dad to Brooke and Robby. There is no way to express how much love he had for his children, but anyone who knew Kris would hear about it in due time. Simply put, Kris was genuinely a good man. He went above and beyond to help anyone in need and set an excellent example for his children. He was a trusted friend, a devoted fiance, a beloved son and brother, and a loving and supporting father. His legacy will live on in all those who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Philip and Roxanne Warren Hall of Scarborough; his children, Brooke Nicole Curry of Scarborough and Robert Warren Hall and fiancee Erin Carberry of Rhode Island; step-son, Sean Foss; fiancee, Ann Marie Roussell and her children Christine Rousselle and Jack Rousselle; siblings, Vicki Hall of Old Orchard Beach, Bonnie Brubach and husband Dan of Scarborough, Dennis Hall and wife Susan of Scarborough, Wayne Hall and wife Colleen of Scarborough; close friends Johnny DiFiore and Nikki Theriault; the Doria family, who considered him to be a brother; and his several extended family members and friends. Visiting Hours celebrating Kris' life will be held from 4-7PM on Tuesday, July 27 at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, July 28 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough. Interment will follow at Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough.
