Yvonne Lydia Lakin (Poisson) 93 long time resident of Sanford passed to spirit on Saturday, February 28th at Saint Joseph's Manor, Portland surrounded by her family.She was born in Ham Nord, Quebec, Canada April 3, 1910, eldest daughter of Albert and Georgianna (Morin) Poisson's 12 children.The owner of Yvonne's Flower Shop, Sanford, Yvonne also taught flower making and arranging to adults in the continuing education program at Sanford High School. She began working at Goodall Sanford Mills as a spinner at 12 years old. For over 15 years she was a cook at various children's summer camps in this area. In later years she was a caregiver and traveling companion to elderly clients.Predeceased by her first husband, John Albert Werren, she was later married to the late Phillip Lakin for 33 years. The mother of six children, predeceased by her son, Richard E. Werren in 2001 and her daughter Rose Phyllis Lakin in 1993, she is survived by daughters, Marjorie Frances Werren Vargo of Olde Lyme, Connecticut, June Werren Dall Morris of Portland, Maine and Sonia Lakin O'Donnell of Burke, Virginia. She is the beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Jean Nutter, Lucille Raymond and Roger Poisson all of Andover, Massachusetts.A memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to Saint Joseph's Manor.The family would like to thank the stall of Saint Joseph's Manor and Doctor James Zeitlin for the loving care given their mother and grandmother during her residence.
