Yvette Boisvert Desjardins, 94, of Sanford, died at the Pavilion in Sanford on Saturday, October 27, 2012.Yvette was born on November 26, 1917 to Zephirin and Camille (Couillard) Fournier in Lewiston where she grew up and attended local schools. After finishing high school she attended Bliss Business College in Lewiston. In 1942, she married Rene Boisvert and they relocated to Sanford in 1946 where they operated the Lafrance-Boisvert Funeral Home for 34 year until the business was sold in 1980. They returned to Lewiston in 1980.Yvette was a devoted wife mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and took pride in preparing delicious meals for her family. Yvette cherished spending time with her sisters and brothers and particularly enjoyed playing bridge. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman with a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Yvette was predeceased by her first husband, Jean Rene Boisvert and by a daughter, Suzanne Levasseur.Surviving are her husband, Jean Marc Desjardins of Scarborough; three daughters, Camille Welsch and her husband David of West Newfield, Monique Boisvert-Guay of Hancock and Jocelyne Gregg and her husband Samuel of Eliot; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, November 1st at the Lafrance-Boisvert Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 2nd at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale. Interment will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 5th at St. Peter's and Paul Cemetery, located on Switzerland Road in Lewiston.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Pavilion Activities Fund, 35 July Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
