Yvette (Daigle) Bernard, 87, of Sanford and Millinocket went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born in Fort Kent on December 24, 1927 to Lucien and Helen (Thibodeau) Daigle. She attended St. Louis School and later became a licensed hairdresser at "Eva's Beauty Shop" in Sanford, until her retirement. Yvette and Louis made their home on Mousam Lake in Shapleigh for many years. In addition to parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Louis J. Bernard, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her sister, Angie, of Connecticut, her daughter Patricia Hinson and husband Dennis of League City Texas, her son, Dan Bernard and his wife, Lynn of Millinocket, grandchildren Victoria (Bernard) Bradford, Gabe Bernard, Christina Hinson, Dan and Doug Hubbard, their spouses, five great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.Yvette was a joy to all who knew her. With always a gleam in her eyes she loved to tell jokes, yodel, and dance french jigs. She was a " champion" potato picker in her youth, and later a blueberry picking "queen". A blessing to all, and a gracious hostess, she frequently welcomed family and friends into her home. One of her favorite sayings during tough times was " Laugh and everyone laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone." She will be dearly missed.Memorial Donations may be made to I Care Ministries at 45 Spring St. Millinocket, ME 04462.Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Saturday, November 21 at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue. Interment will be at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral and Cremation Services, Sanford-Springvale.
