William J. Warren Jr., 82, of Sanford passed away on Sunday April 28, 2013 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford. He was born in Windham on June 23, 1930 a son of the late Jessie and Mamie (Ryall) Warren.After graduating from Windham High School he enlisted in the US Army and served in the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired from S.D. Warren in Westbrook after 20 years of service with the company.An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His hobby was collecting coins.He is predeceased by a daughter, Valerie Warren, a stepdaughter, Marilyn Landry, and a brother, Richard Warren. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Theresa (Vachon) Warren of Sanford, a son, Brad Warren and his wife Donna of Pennsylvania, stepchildren, Kathleen Taylor and her husband Bruce of Sanford, Dick Lemieux and his wife Alice of Plaistow, NH, grandchildren, Lauren Landry, Ashley Taylor, Jameson Lemieux, Meghan Lemieux, Chantelle Curtis, one brother, David Warren of Cornish as well as some nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford, after which all are invited to a luncheon at the Heald Family Center, 574 Main Street, Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
