ALFRED—William S. Crediford,Jr. 82, of Alfred, died Sunday July 27, 2025 in Portland.
He was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on March 18, 1943 the son of William Sr. and Helen (Huff) Crediford. In his early years, he drove a taxi and lived in Revere Beach. Bill attended the University of Maine and worked as a driver most of his career, most of it spent driving for Portland Metro as a bus driver where he made many friends.
When he wasn’t working, Bill enjoyed all manner of sports and was a New England Patriots season-ticket-holder. He loved going to football and hockey games with his friends. He enjoyed going to Do-Wop concerts with many of his friends. He also enjoyed the many cats and dogs he had in his lifetime.
Bill was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his good friend, Nancy Picard and several friends from Metro.
A funeral service will be held at the Black, Heald Walker Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Wednesday August 13 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterboro.
