William Lanoie

William "Bill" Lanoie, Jr. 69, longtime resident of Sanford, died suddenly December 28, 2004 at his home.He was born in Saco, September 8, 1935 a son of William and Edna (Noble) Lanoie, Sr. and graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in the shipping and receiving department for over 14 years for Grants Department Store and Richs. Before his retirement from the workforce, he was employed as a meat cutter at Jimmy' s Market and Roger's Super Dollar.Mr. Lanoie was devoted to his family and grandchildren. His favorite pastime was playing cards every Saturday night with his best friends. He enjoyed his home computer, talking and playing games with his grandchildren. A good day was winning a lucky scratch ticket from the local market. An animal lover, Bill enjoyed his cat "Tom" and his bird, "Coco". But, his heart belonged to his wife of 45 years, Anna and listening to her sing.Survivors include his wife, Anna (Desmond) Lanoie of Sanford; one son, William "Bill" Lanoie, III of Grand Prairie, TX; two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Lanoie of Waltham, MA and Tammera "Tami" Caramihalis of Alfred; one brother, Gary Lanoie of Gorham. 7 grandchildren, Rheanna Lanoie of Waltham, MA, Katherine, Selena, Samantha and John M. Caramihalis, III all of Alfred; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debbra Ann Lanoie in 1964 and by his sister, Geraldine "Tiny" Collins and his brother, Kenneth Lanoie.Funeral Services will be Friday, December 31, 2004 at 12:00 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Friends and family may call from 10:00 am until the hour of the service. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, Inc. P.O. Box 43 -Old Holland Rd., W.
