William C. Green

William C. "Wild Bill, Billy" GreenWilliam C. Green, 50 years old of Alfred died unexpectedly on Monday July 28, 2003.Mr. Green was born in Sanford, ME on February 24, 1953 to Beatrice Flanders Green, and the late Warren Green of Lyman. He was a 1971 graduate of Massabesic H.S. Mr. Green was a career truck driver, and a very good one. He worked for several area companies including J.D. Crafts Transport, Frank & Sons, Rangers, F.R Carroll, and most recently for Foglio Inc. of Waterboro.Mr. Green was an active volunteer with the Fire & Rescue departments of Waterboro, Limerick, Limington, and Shapleigh. As a truck driver he was able to visit the entire continental United States. Mr. Green's motto was "Work before pleasure", and Mr. Green found his pleasure in the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, enjoying a cookout, or just tinkering around the house he did it with a smile on his face, and a warm heart.Mr. Green leaves behind his mother Beatrice Green, his wife of 18 years Elaine (Nadeau) Green; children, Lorne Green, Chad Green, Justin Green, Laura Anderson, Keith Hollins, and Mary Hollins. Also surviving are his sisters, Mrs. (Carl) Wilma Harris, Mrs. (James) Betty Locke, Mrs. (Paul) Dorothy Brochu, and four loving grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 1, 2003 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale. A 9:00 AM graveside service for Mr. Green will be held on Saturday the 2nd at the Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred, ME.
