William W. Cilley

William W. Cilley Jr., 78, of Acton passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born on December 4, 1944 to William Sr. and Jennifer (Bennett) Cilley in Lewiston. Bill was a graduate of Sanford High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served for six years. He was employed in the maintenance department at Sprague Electric in Sanford for over 30 years. His mechanical skills were used outside of work as well. He could fix anything and was very creative. He made a three wheel go cart out of a stock car roll cage and a motorcycle engine. Bill’s favorite way to spend time was his family up north, UPTA camp, fishing and hanging out. He also enjoyed walking on the beach. One highlight of the year was fair season, where he liked to browse the fall sights and activities and of course enjoy the fair food. William is predeceased by his parents, and siblings Ruth Voter and her husband Russell, Betty Moulton and her husband Donald, and Donna Cheney. Survivors include his son Jason Cilley and his partner Michelle Harvey of Acton, grandson Robert Gould, and brothers in law Gilbert Cheney and Robin Ham and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a day and time to be determined.
