Wilfreda Mae McBrady

Wilfreda Mae “Freda” McBrady Falmouth - Freda McBrady passed away on June 24, 2023 following a long illness. She was born Portland, Maine on December 13, 1928 to Arthur and Lenora (Cilly) Geer. Her education was divided between Princeton and Portland. She graduated from PHS in the class of ’47. She worked a variety of jobs including Shaw's Supermarket, B&M Baked Beans and finally Casco Paper Box Factory, retiring from there after more than 40 years of employment. She married Joseph McBrady in 1953 and they made their home on Munjoy Hill until his death in 2005. Freda was a communicant of the Cathedral Of the Immaculate Conception and fondly remembers the friendship and kindness of Fr. Jim Nadeau during her husband’s long illness. After Joe’s death she lived at 100 State Street and made many close friends especially Mary Moriarty, Linda McDonough and Greg Savage. Freda is survived by her son, Tim & daughter-in-law, Cindy; 3 grandchildren, Dawn Harmon (Norm), Andrew McBrady(Jessica), Joseph McBrady(Ashley); and 7 great-grandchildren, Connor, Gabe, Kia, Bella, Will, Stella and Patrick. Thank you to the staff of Falmouth by the Sea and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 27, 2023, at 10AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street, Portland. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
