Wendi Verrill

Westbrook – Wendi Verrill, 69, passed away on August 25, 2026, while traveling in Greece with her friend, Mary. Wendi was born on June 14, 1957 in Portland, daughter of the late Ervin and Viola (Crosby) Roberts.

She grew up in South Portland, graduating from South Portland High School in 1975. Wendi attended the University of Southern Maine, graduating in 1989 with a degree in Computer Science. She furthered her education at Westbrook College, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Computer Information Systems. Wendi used her education to become a Computer Programmer for the State of Maine until her retirement at the age of 65.

Wendi loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with friends and family throughout her life. She often made new friends on her trips and stayed in touch with them for many years to follow.

Wendi enjoyed gardening and created beautiful gardens at her home in Westbrook as well as for her mother and friends. She was a cat lover and owned several cats; she was especially devoted to her white ragdoll cat, Vinny.

Wendi was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Clifford Verrill, and nephew, Kevin Roberts. She is survived by her sister, Vicki Roberts; brother, Erni and his wife Gina Roberts; niece, Rhiannon Leeman; grand nieces, Amaya and Olivia; grand nephew, Connor; and great-grand nephew, Carter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Marceau for everything she did in Greece to ensure Wendi was well taken care of and could return safely home to us.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm – 4pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Homes of South Portland, 1024, Broadway South Portland. A private burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Gorham.
