Wayne White

Wayne A. White, 68, of Sanford passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 15, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Framingham, MA on February 13, 1937 the son of Albert P. and Evelyn M. (Rosenquist) White. He graduated from Framingham High School in 1954. He then attended Northeastern University in Boston.He joined the U.S. Army in 1956 serving in Japan as well as Germany as a Topographical Surveyor. In 1964 he joined the United States Air Force and served in Okinawa, Thailand and Vietnam retiring in 1978 as a Master Sergeant. He was the recipient of three Purple Hearts.From 1981 to 1991 he was employed by the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard as a shipwright. Since 1996 he had been working as a prep cook for Cindy's Diner in Sanford. During his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and fresh water fishing.He is predeceased by his father, Albert P. White. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn M. White of Sanford, two sons, Lindsay P. White of Center Sandwich, NH; Keith W. White of Cape Cod, MA; two daughters, Cynthia M. White of Waterboro and Lisa M. Satterfield of Poland, 9 grandchildren, Edgar Satterfield, Ashley White, Shannon White, Brandon White, Kristiana White, Ryan White, Kayla White Caleb White, Kyle White.Visiting hours will be on Monday April 18 from 6-8pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street Springvale, Maine.
