Wayne A. Powell

Wayne A. Powell, 59, of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Lancaster, NH, on April 15, 1952. Wayne served in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War, working as a helicopter mechanic.He enjoyed landscaping and at one time ran his own business. Until he became sick he had been employed by General Electric.Survivors include his wife, Linda M.(Brann) Powell of Sanford, children, Amanda Poole, Jason Powell, Justin Powell, Ashley Powell, step-children, Mark Brann and Melissa Brann, siblings, John Leclair, Dora Dunham, Ervin Powell, Rose Hartshorn, grandchildren, Colby, Tyler, Paige, Brandy, Christopher and Hailey, as well as many nieces and nephews.A graveside service for Wayne will take place on Monday at 2PM at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.
