Walter G. Whicker

Walter G. Whicker, Jr. 73, of Avon, Ohio died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at Harborside Healthcare following a short illness. Mr. Whicker was born August 28, 1930 in Sanford a son of Walter and Mary (Fay) Whicker and was a long time resident of the Cleveland area. He also lived in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Whicker was employed as a small engine mechanic with ABC Rental in Parma Heights. Walter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family.Survivors include his sons, Walter G. Whicker, III of Columbus, Ohio; Dan P. Whicker of Colonial Hts., VA and Michael J. Whicker of Elyria, Ohio; 6 grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Woodcock of Augusta, Maine. Also, his former wife, Beverly Whicker.A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at Pine Grove Cemetery- South (across from Waterboro High School) at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.The Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, is respectfully handling arrangements.
