Walter F. Scott Jr. of Acton, Maine March 25, 1940 – September 16, 2026
Walter, the loving husband of Rosemarie Thomas Scott, went home to be with the Lord, following a period of declining health.
Born in Revere MA, he was the eldest son of Walter Scott Sr and Mary Mallio Scott. His younger brothers were Robert, John and Richard.
He moved to Acton ME in 1969, where he resided for 57 years.
His nickname was Scotty to some and Skip to others. Regardless of the nickname, he was adored by all who knew him.
Well known for his entertaining one-liners and readiness to strike up a conversation with total strangers, he always had a smile on his face and loved to tell stories about the old days.
Scotty was employed at Spaulding Fiber in Rochester NH for 30 years, where he worked his way up from a machine operator to plant manager.
He was the father of Joseph, Bradley, Walter III, Jill and Julie. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren – Joseph, Juliana, Emily, Jacob, Alec, Jedidiah, Walter IV, Molly, Jesse, Josiah, Jack, Josie, Adeline, Tony, Vinny, Nico, Theo and Rosalie, as well as five great grandchildren – Violet, Beau, Hazel, Roger and Charlie.
Skip loved his family and would do anything for them. He had an iron clad memory, and even in his later years, prided himself in reciting all of his grandchildren’s names and dates of birth. The grandkids always lit up when he was around and enjoyed repeating his witty sayings.
Scotty’s passing leaves a hole in the lives of many, but comfort is taken in knowing that they’ll see him again one day in heaven.
