Walter Quimby

Walter John Quimby, 70, of Acton, Maine, passed away Friday June 23, 2006 surrounded by his family at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine.He was born in Lowell, MA, on May 14, 1936, a son of Walter James and Neina (Willey) Quimby. He retired from Pactiv Corp. after 15 years of service with the company. Besides spending time with his family Walter loved fishing and the outdoors. His love for animals was embodied by his faithful companion Lady. He was known for his warm heart, kindness and faith in God.He is predeceased by an infant son, Joseph Paul Quimby. He is survived by his wife, Thelma A. (Jillson) Quimby of Acton, daughters, Elizabeth Liz Norman of Dracut, MA, Linda M. Rassias and her husband, George A. of Nashua, NH, Debra Q. (Legatos) Trent and her husband Eric of Pelham, NH, brothers, Burton Edwin Quimby of Warren, ME and James Richard Quimby and his wife, Susan of New Milford, CT, grandchildren, Jeremee Norman, Andrea Legatos, Shaunna Legatos, Regina Trent, Lindsey Allard, Devin Allard and Carly Allard, stepsons, David Mark Allard and his wife, Michelle of Durham, ME, James Ronald Allard of Dallas, Texas, Timothy Michael Allard of Portland, ME, daughter in law, Suzanna Carey Allard as well as many nephews and nieces.Visiting hours will be on Sunday June 25 from 2-4pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale, Maine. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford.
