Virginia I. Desfosses, 81 of Sanford died at her home on Sunday May 4, 2003.Mrs. Desfosses was born on November 28, 1921 in Milton, NH. She was the daughter of Ernest and Marion Dixon Langlois. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the Sanford H.S. class of 1940.For many years Mrs. Desfosses worked for Universal Shoe Co. She was a member and vice president of the local 82 United Shoe Workers of America Union. Mrs. Desfosses loved to travel and do knitting, crocheting for family and friends.Surviving is her husband of nearly 62 years Urban Desfosses Sr., a son Urban Jr., and a daughter Louise Cash all of Sanford. Also surviving are three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Eleanor and Nancy.A period of visitation will be held on Thursday May 8, from 11 AM to 1 PM with a funeral service to follow at 1 PM.For those that desire memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
