Veronica Jean Single

Veronica J. Single, 74, of Lyman, died at her home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Veronica was born on January 13, 1949, in Wareham, Massachusetts, the daughter of J. Arnold Nelson and Mary Nelson. She grew up in Wareham where she attended local schools. During her working life, Veronica held several jobs, including working as a waitress, in a hotel, and her favorite job at Action Video in Waterboro. She was a quiet woman who preferred to spend her time at home. Veronica enjoyed reading and was a member of a book club. She also liked to bake and decorate cakes. She had a special love for animals and enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife around her home, especially the deer, the turkeys her favorite chipmunk, "Chippy". Veronica was a direct woman and you never had to guess where you stood with her. Her family and friends always appreciated her honesty and integrity. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. Veronica was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gunnar Single. Surviving are her daughter Tracey Dunnington of Wareham, Massachusetts, daughter Megan Semple of Wareham, Massachusetts, and son Erik Thorell of Derry, New Hampshire. She was also a proud grandmother of Kendra Dunnington, Morgan Wahlstrom, Kevin Semple, and Ryan Semple. She is also survived by her seven siblings, James Nelson, William Nelson, Jerry Nelson, Robert Nelson, Eileen Chamberlain, Ellen Gonsalves, and Kathleen Bruce. At Veronica’s request, arrangements will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
