Thomas R. Knight

Thomas R. Knight, Sr. 60, of Sanford passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at his residence. He was born on October 1, 1958, a son of the late Raymond and Patricia (Egan) Knight in Vernon, CT. The family moved to Sanford and he attended local schools. As a young man he enlisted in the Army National Guard and served for nine years.He met and married Cathy Gagne and they moved to Deblois, Maine, where they raised their four children.Thomas was employed as a mechanic at Cherryfield Foods, and Wyman's Blueberry Companies, and he also did snow plowing.Tom thoroughly enjoyed his work as a mechanic. He also liked to fish, hunt, and work on cars and trucks. He was always tinkering and it seemed he could fix anything.He was an easy going person, loved his family, and was willing to help anyone. Survivors include his wife Cathy Knight, his son, Thomas Knight Jr., his daughter, Amanda Kowalsky and her husband Mathew, sons, Joseph Knight and his wife Nicole, and Erin Knight, eleven grandchildren, Torri, Jordyn, Logan, Chelsea, Brooklyn, Rhonda, Halle, Henry, Jennifer, Whittney, and Audrina, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 10:00 A.M. at Oakdale Cemetery at 127 Twombley Rd. in Sanford.
