Thomas Emerson, 81, of Huntington Beach, CA, died October 22, 2021 at home with his Family, Julie Emerson, Alan Emerson, and Brian Emerson. Thomas passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Thomas was born in Lynn, MA October 24, 1939 the son of Douglas and Irene Emerson. Thomas was educated in Lynn, MA at Lynn Classical High School. Thomas joined the ARMY in 1961 and was Honorably Discharged in 1964 as an E-5. Thomas was a Crew Chief on Chinook helicopters in the ARMY.
After serving in the ARMY Thomas was employed as an airplane mechanic by Pan American Airways working in Boston, Seattle, New York, and later in Los Angeles. Thomas later worked for other airlines and finally retired while working for FedEx Airlines.
Thomas is survived by his Family Julie Emerson, two sons Alan and Brian Emerson of Huntington Beach, his sister Sandra Vaccaro of Sanford, his three grandchildren Madison, Thomas, and Charlie of Huntington Beach, three nephews, Glenn Vaccaro, Chris Emerson, Tim Emerson, a niece Melissa Vaccaro, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Friday November 12th between 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main St., Springvale ME. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted the following day on November 13th at Maple Grove Cemetery in Acton ME at 11:00 AM.
