Theresa D. Staples, 79, of Sanford, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 after a lengthy illness.Theresa was born in Putnam, CT on November 10, 1929 to Theodore and Doris Bazinet.Theresa worked for Webster Spring in Massachusetts, Eastern Plastics in Sanford and for Bass Shoe. She also worked several years for Bar-H Motel. She was a hardworking, fun loving woman who enjoyed playing Beano whenever she could. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and never turned them down when they needed a helping hand or a ride somewhere. Theresa had a lot of friends and was a long time volunteer at Greenwood Center. She also loved going on outings with her oldest daughter Pat who would take her shopping, to Connecticut to visit relatives, or even to Amish Country in Pennsylvania where they traveled several times. Theresa will be missed dearly by all of her friends and family.Theresa was predeceased by her husband Alton Staples, her parents, a sister, Florence Burbee and a son, Bruce BonnerSurviving are four daughters, Pat Couture and her husband Bob of Lebanon, Kelly Stackpole and her husband Michael of Sanford, Karen Blue and Cindy Cox; five sons, Robert Bonner, Billy Bonner, Russel Bonner, Steven Coy and Bobby Coy; grandchildren Robbie Couture of Lebanon, Ricky Emmons Jr., Samantha Emmons, Jordan Stackpole, Olivia Stackpole all of Sanford; two great grandchildren, Riley and Cheyenne; two sisters, Rachel Morin and her husband Leo of Connecticut and Jane Mowry and her husband Al of Connecticut and two brothers, Baz Bazinet and his wife Lorraine of Connecticut and Robert Bazinet and his wife Linda of Connecticut.Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 10th at 11:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Greenwood Center Activities Fund, 1142 Main Street, Sanford, ME 04073.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
