Theresa P. Carpenter, 74 years old, of Shapleigh, ME died on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Pine Point Nursing Home in Scarborough. Theresa was born in Biddeford, ME on March 17, 1931. She was the daughter of the late John D. and Marie L. (Cantara) Neault. It was in Biddeford that she went to school, and was raised as a child. Later on Theresa married and moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she lived with her husband's family for 3 years. The next five years was spent in Massachusetts until her husband was transferred to Old Orchard Beach where she spent the majority of her time. While in Old Orchard Beach Theresa was a communicant of St. Margaret's R.C. Church. Theresa moved to Shapleigh in 1996 to live with her daughter until two weeks ago at which time she was moved to Goodall Hospital. Theresa was a hard working woman. She worked at the Pepperell Mill, York Heel, and Southern Maine Medical Center for many years. Theresa was always giving of herself, often sharing her own time to care for others, and any stray animals that needed care, or a home. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family, crocheting, interior decorating, and she was said to have a very green thumb. Theresa was a member of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, and most recently a communicant of Notre Dame Church of Springvale. Predeceasing Theresa was her husband Ray L. Carpenter, a great grandson Tyler Ray Bill-Wade, and two brothers Felix Neault and Paul Neault. Surviving is a daughter Mary Ann Wade and her husband David of Shapleigh, ME; two sons, Norman Carpenter and his wife Tammy of Lyman, H. Rodney Carpenter of Saco, five grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for Theresa will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, January 22nd at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME. On Monday the 23rd an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Notre Dame Church in Springvale. Committal services will follow at Goodwin's Mills Cemetery in Lyman.
