Theresa M. Belanger

Theresa M. Belanger 86, of Rye, NY and formerly of Sanford, passed away on April 28, 2012 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx New York. She was born in Sanford on June 30, 1925 a daughter of the late Leo and Aline (Desruisseaux) Belanger. A graduate of St. Joseph's College she received her Masters Degree from the University of Bridgeport College of Education. She was an Ursuline sister and teacher for 18 years. She left the sisters and continued as a teacher in Port Chester, New York at the Edison School and then later at the King Street School from which she retired. Theresa is survived by her sister, Jeannine Ackroyd and husband Wallace many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Memorial mass will be celebrated in September when many family members will be visiting her home town in Sanford. She will be buried in the family plot with her parents, Leo and Aline Belanger, her sister Lucille B. Hooper and Lucille's first husband Gene Dion.
