THEODORA "TEDDI" CROWLEY BRUNETTESanfordTheodora "Teddi" Crowley Brunette, of Sanford, died June 22 in Springvale at the home of her daughter following a brief illness.She was born in Sanford, a daughter of Edward J. and Adelina (Perreault) Crowley, and attended local schools.She was employed for almost 30 years with York County Community Action, Corp. in Sanford.She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and served there as a eucharistic minister.Teddi was an incredibly civic-minded person who was a familiar face around town in the various capacities in which she served. She was active in the Red Cross, for Waban Projects, and the Literacy Program. She served as a Sanford town meeting member and served on the Sanford Planning Board. She was a member of Rolling Thunder.Her own special project was the annual 4th of July celebration. She organized the parade, events and fireworks for 30 years. This year was to be her last, and much of the celebration this year was to be held in her honor.Teddi was also a well known Notary Public who performed thousands of marriages over the years. Her family commented that she used to joke that she did more weddings than Vegas. They also mentioned her love of poetry and how she composed poems and incorporated them into her wedding ceremonies.Survivors include a son, Alcide N. Brunette of Orlando, FL, 2 daughters, Carrie Martin and her children Dean Martin, Jr. and Shawna Lyn Martin of Sanford, Carolyn Morse, her husband Gary and their children Jennifer and James of Springvale, a sister Adeline Thompson of Waterbury, CT and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in Holy Family Church.
