Falmouth - Sister Anne Ragan, MSSp, passed away at home on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the age of 101. Anne was born on January 30, 1916 in Portland, a daughter of the late Joseph and Bridgett (Lee) Ragan (Della). She attended St. Dominic Elementary School and St. Joseph's Academy. Sr. Anne was a member of the Mission Sisters of the Holy Spirit of Saginaw, Michigan. Throughout her ministry, she served in many capacities including her work as a medical social worker. In addition to her parents, Sr. Anne is predeceased by her sister, Peggy-Lee Ragan; brother, Joseph and his wife Gabrielle (Rousselle) Ragan. She is survived by her sister, Mary Catherine Ragan of Falmouth; members of her religious community, Sisters Estelle Strohmeyer, Elaine Raymond, Margo Tafoya and Mary Lou Owczarzak. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland from 5-7PM. A Vigil Service will be held at 6PM in the funeral home followed by the Rosary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 24 at 10AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street, Portland. Interment will follow at Old Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland.
