Simone Bergeron

Simone Bergeron, 89, of Sanford, passed away on September 21st, at Pinnacle following a lengthy illness.

Mom was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sanford on March 21,1937, and the daughter of Conrad and Emelia (Provencher) Roux. She spent her childhood on the Roux family farm in Alfred where she grew up, with nine siblings. She married Maurice Thibeault. Together they had 4 children. She later married Richard Bergeron in 2007.

Mom loved to garden, crochet, dance, play games and loved watching the Red Sox. She was a true competitor. In her earlier years she loved to play horseshoes and was a state champ back in 1960’s. She loved to play Skip-Bo, a card game she played with women called the “Ladies of the Mountain”. She even played cards in Pinnacle with her daughter Diane, as well as with her friend Sweet Pea. She kept a book of wins and losses–showing how much of a competitor she was! She also looked forward to once a month lunches with the girls.

She was predeceased by Maurice who passed away August 1983; two sons, David who passed March of 1973 and Ronald who passed March of 2025; eight brothers, Leo, Willie, Aime, Conrad, Raymond, Eddie, Hector, Albert, and one sister, Ida Guillemette.

Mom is survived by two children, Rene Thibeault and his wife Annette, and Diane Pike and her husband Wayne, a daughter in-law Patti Thibeault, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her husband Richard Bergeron and his three children. Laurie Martin, Denise Whitehouse and her husband Dan, Richard Bergeron and his wife Kathy and 10 grandchildren and 20 great children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 6th at St Therese of Lisieux Parish, located at 66 North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will be at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. A celebration of life service to follow at The Ridge, located at Shaw’s Ridge Road in Sanford.
