Shirley was a humorous women full of love and clever comebacks. I was lucky to have met her and she will surely be missed.🖤
I always admired her perseverance.
I will always remember her kindness!
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
Loving, kindness, and spunky
Growing up in the military moving back and forth from USA and Germany, Aunt Shirley did not treat me any differently than her own kids growing up or as an adult. I am forever grateful to her for her kindness from her heart to me and my family. She will be missed dearly!
I remember as a kid going to the farm to visit the family and being taught how to milk a cow for the first time. And us kids (Nancy, who is my sister, Bobbie, Chrissy, myself, and I think Aunt Linda was there) we all hunkered down and slept in one room. That was the best time. I loved sitting around listening to Aunt Shirley talk about life in general. We did not get to come up to Maine very often but when we did it felt very special. Even as an adult we did not get up north as much as I would have liked to see family. I will miss her very much!!
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and aunt! It saddens my heart that I could not be up there for all of you during this time of great sorrow in all of our lives. I know it is hurtful to your hearts, but Aunt Shirley is a sweet angel now looking over all of you wanting peace for each of you!! Love and Blessing to you all!
I love you!
Shirley I miss you so much. Our long talks at night on the phone ,the laughs over things we say. Rest in peace sis.
Love,
Florence
Kind, giving, a loving person. Always ready to help anyone.
Shirley is a younger sister. She will be missed so much. We talked every night on the phone sometimes for over an hour. I miss her and our crazy talks.
Her kind heart.
Falling out of tree. Playing in dirt.
I am so lonely with out you.
So very sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. She was a caring and loving woman. Sincere condolences to her family. 🙏🙏
I Love you ❤️😘💕
I am the oldest of six girls. Growing up we were close to each other. We visited Shirley in Maine and she visited us in NJ a few times but we all tried to stay in touch with each other.
4th of the great Gardner girls. I came 5 years after her.
Would spend over night when Shirley first got married in Bud Lake, NJ. We loved tormenting Don when he would try to nap on the couch.
Sisters forever. I know I’ll see you again. Love you lots.
Loved everyone and every animal. Kind, compassionate, thoughtful.
Never forget the day she saddled up her horse and helped me onto it. The horse came out of the barn and the horse said no way I’m taking this girly back in the barn. Never did get to ride it anywhere else. Haha.
Remember what a wonderful sister, family person. Loved all of us.
If she said she was doing it you best believe it.
Do never say goodbye. Its always see you later.
Miss you sis and love you. See you later some day
Going to Maine and Bobby Ann took me to watch her milk a cow and went back to the kitchen table where everyone was nd they have me try it. I remember Aunt Shirley laugh her butt off because I didn’t like it very well.
She wrote a letter not long ago nd I’m glad I kept it. Sure do miss the “old” days!
Also remember the time we drove from Jersey to Maine and grandpas car broke down and the stupid service dude came and told us to take the exit after him (or something like that). The car sounded horrible and he took an earlier exit, found a different garage, we spent the night and early the next morning it was fixed and we may have been a day late but finally made it to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Don’s house.
Praying for peace and comfort for my cousins and aunts.
