Westbrook - Ryan Michael Nichols, 37, was tragically killed on November 30, 2024. Ryan was born on March 4, 1987, in Portland, he instantly stole the hearts of his father, Michael Nichols and mother, Lori LeClair.
From the moment he arrived, Ryan was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed angel who exuded love in its purest form. His infectious smile, sharp wit, and unforgettable one-liners brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.
Ryan was a man of loyalty, strength, and heart. To his family and friends, he was much more than a brother—he was a natural leader and teammate, on and off the field. Whether it was leading his team to the end zone or standing by his loved ones during tough times, Ryan was unwavering in his support. "Nichols for the win" was not just a saying, but a testament to his determination and commitment to those he cared for.
Ryan had a passion for barbering and took great pride in his craft. He gave back to his community by offering free haircuts to those in need at local shelters, a gesture that reflected his kind and generous spirit.
Football was one of Ryan’s greatest joys. A multi-sport athlete, he excelled in every game he played, but football held a special place in his heart. His teammates and coaches remember his relentless drive and unwavering loyalty. Ryan’s father, Michael, was his biggest fan throughout his life and high school football career, cheering him on every step of the way.

He leaves behind his son, Kolby Ryan Nichols; sister, Kaileigh Nichols; brother, Joshua and his wife Elizabeth Curlew; nieces and nephews, Alaina and Chance Wilson, Isabella, Ayden, Ameerah, Jameson, Joseph, Alison, and Joshua Jr.; aunts, Janel Maloney and Karen Nichols; Uncle Christopher Piacentini; cousins, Shawna, Danielle and Adrienne; and many beloved extended family members.

If my uncle Ryan was still here today, I’d tell him that I love him because no matter what he was my safe person
He loved playing football and doing really anything that made people happy
His amazing hugs and the gap between his teeth when he smiles

I was saddened to hear of Ryan’s passing. He was a talented athlete and was a great tailback and linebacker at Somersworth high school from 2001-2004. I have a lot of great memories of Ryan and was honored to have been one of his coaches. My deepest sympathy for his family and friends during this difficult time.

Im so thankful for the many memories I have of my time with Ryan. Hockey games, lighthouse exploring, dancing, nerf gun fights, arcades & our mutual love of being complete weirdo’s. I’ll never forget that smile, that laugh.
