Ruth Arlene Goodwin

Ruth Arlene Goodwin, 88, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday April 14, 2005 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born on February 26, 1917 in Springvale, a daughter of Guy and Ethel Horne.On January 1, 1934 she married Ernest D. Goodwin and together they shared 60 years until his passing in 1994. She had been employed at the former Woolworth's Store in Sanford and Allied Novelty Shoe shop in Springvale. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.She is survived by her children, Richard E. Goodwin of Sanford, Ardley B. Cusack Sr. and his wife Carole of Yarmouth, Barbara I Haines and her husband, Quentin of Somersworth, NH; one sister, Helen B. Colby of Sanford, one granddaughter, Ruth I. Goodwin of Somersworth, NH, two great grandchildren, William D. Goodwin and Jennifer L. Goodwin both of Somersworth, NH.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday April 19 at 11am at Riverside Cemetery in Springvale with Pastor Rick Leach of the Curtis Lake Christian Church officiating.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Curtis Lake Christian Church, 38 Westview Drive Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street Springvale, Maine
