Ruth M. Deslauriers

Ruth M. Deslauriers, 69 of Springvale, ME died at her home on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Bronx, NY on January 11, 1936 to Anthony and Marie (Franz) Frantzis Sr. She was a 1954 graduate of Catholic High School in Waterbury, CT and received her associates degree in nursing from Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, VT. Ruth was always a very hard worker, during high school she worked at Paris Restaurant in Waterbury, CT and Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park in Middlebury, CT, both of which were family owned businesses. During her working life, Ruth served as a private health care provider to people all over the country.Mrs. Deslauriers will be remembered as a loving mother and a good friend. She loved animals and spent a lot of time caring for and raising exotic birds. She enjoyed traveling to different places and especially enjoyed her many trips to Florida. The outdoors also provided Ruth with a great deal of enjoyment, she could often be found tending to her flowers or just sitting on the porch enjoying the fresh air. She was a collector of many knick-knacks and trinkets that she would use to decorate her home, she also enjoyed playing the piano. Ruth was predeceased by a son, Scott Hulett.Surviving are her husband Leo Deslauriers of Springvale, ME; 5 sons, Mark Deslauriers of Southington, CT, Glenn Deslauriers of Springvale, ME, Daniel Hulett of Cheshire, CT, Michael Hulett of Los Angeles, CA, and Rocky Clark-Deslauriers of Springvale, ME; a daughter, Marlene Clark, of Springvale, ME; 2 brothers, Anthony G. Frantzis Jr. of Watertown, CT and Mike Frantzis of Millageville, GA; a sister, Elizabeth Squires of Oklahoma City, OK; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094.
