Ruth E. Bumford

Ruth E. Bumford, 85, lifelong resident of Lebanon, died Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home in Wolfeboro, NH. She was born July 8, 1918 in Lebanon a daughter of Vaun and Susan (Mace) Cole and was raised and educated in Lebanon. Ruth graduated from Sanford High School in 1936.Mrs. Bumford was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family. During her younger years, Ruth worked at the local woolen mills and later as an assistant cook at the Lebanon Elementary School. Living in the country made Ruth's life full and complete. She took great pleasure in her animals and gardening. Survivors include three sons: Frank and his wife, Roxanne Bumford of Lebanon; Kenneth Bumford of Lebanon and Ronald Bumford of So. Carolina. One daughter: Elizabeth "Liz" Bumford of Sanbornville, NH. Also, two grandsons, David and Matthew Bumford. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, J. Owen Bumford in 1999.Calling hours will be held Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale from 6 - 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be Sat. May 1, 2004 at 2 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald German, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon.
