Roy W. Hutchinson

Roy Wes Hutchinson age 80, of Lebanon, ME, passed away peacefully on October 25. He was born on July 9, 1946 in Newark, NJ to parents Roy and Catherine and raised in East Brunswick, NJ.

After graduating high school, Roy was drafted into the Army, where he served until his honorable discharge with the rank of sergeant. During his service, Roy was wounded in the Vietnam War, and was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart in recognition of his service and sacrifice. Roy worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for over 40 years.

On November 30, 1968, he married Sandy, and they were married almost 58 years.

Roy loved spending time in the garage tackling problems and fabricating solutions, but his greatest joy was being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughters Jill (Dan) Wilson of NH, and Brandy (Steve) Josefson of RI, and grandchildren Kennedy, Owen and Lily. He’s survived by his brother Terry, and sister Gail, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on December 5 from 12-3 at Oak Street Bistro, 3 Oak Street, Alfred, Maine.
