Martin, 54, of Alfred Maine died December 2, 2001 at his residence.He was born in Woburn, MA., on April 22, 1947 the son of Alphonsus and Dorothy Black Martin where he attended schools. He attended Massachusetts School of Radio and Electronics.Mr. Martin moved to Maine in 1970. He began working at Cyro Industries in 1974, where he was employed at the time of his death.He was a past member of the Alfred Appeals Board for 10 plus years. Mr. Martin loved boating, and for the past 14 years docked his boat at New Meadows Marina in Brunswick, Maine. He spent 10 years as a little league coach in Alfred, where he also dedicated some of his time helping with scouting.He is survived by his wife Virginia Perkins Martin of Alfred; his father Alphonsus of Woburn, MA; sons, Ronald W. Martin, Jr., of Eliot, ME., Dr. Jeffrey W. Martin of Albuquerque, NM; daughters Kelly A. Huff of Alfred, Maine, and Sherry A. Kirk of Newport, RI; sisters, D. Suzanne Minghella of Stoneham, MA., Carol King of Woburn, MA., and Jacqueline O'Neil of College Corner, OH; 8 grandchildren Brian, Tara + Collin Huff, Krystal + Ashley Martin and Samantha, Sarah + Jessica Kirk and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends may call from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday at Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church 66 North Avenue, Sanford, Maine.
