Ronald P. Guillemette, 72, of Sanford, died on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
Ronald was born in Sanford on August 11, 1949 to Andre and Jeannette Guillemette, one of 10 children. He attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1969. During his working life he was employed for many years at CYRO in Sanford where he stayed until his retirement. In 1969 he married Kathryn Nadeau and together they shared 51 years of marriage and raised four sons.
Ronald enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family around the pool in the summer. He always put the needs of his family before his own and was always willing to help whenever they needed a hand. He had been a communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. Ronald was a very social and friendly man who could often be found out in the community visiting with family and friends. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed.
Ronald was predeceased by his son Donny Guillemette, by his grandson, Ben Guillemette and by two siblings, Jerry and Rachel.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Guillemette of Sanford; three sons, Kevin Guillemette of Sanford, Jody Guillemette and his wife Chinda of Saco and Timi Guillemette of Sanford; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Guillemette of Weare, New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Abby, Sarah, Emma, Lucas, Ben and Christopher; seven siblings, Michael, Irene, Elaine, Dianne, Pauline, John and Roland and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 24th at the Notre Dame Chapel at the Brothers of Christian Instruction located at 132 Shaker Hill Road in Alfred. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery located on Twombley Road in Sanford.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the York County Shelter Program, 24 George Road, Alfred, Maine 04002.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
