Roland L. Pierce

Lebanon, MaineRoland L. Pierce, 77, of Waterboro, Maine died Thursday September 19, 2002 at The Maine Veterans Home of Scarborough.He was born in Lebanon, Maine on February 15, 1925, the son of Chester and Effie (LaRose) Pierce.Mr. Pierce was a WWII Veteran who was among one of the first to land on the beach at Normandy.He worked 25 years at Allied-Kidd Tannery in Waterboro. Mr. Pierce also owned a septic tank business throughout Southern Maine. He is survived by sons Kenneth Pierce, SR. of Waterboro and Dwight Pierce of Waterboro; a daughter Gail Stevens of Waterboro; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Swinerton) Pierce who died in 1995.Relatives and friends may call on Sunday September 22, 2002 at Heald Funeral Home 580 Main St., Springvale, where a funeral will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM.
