Roland P. Adams

Roland P. Adams, 89 years old, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough following a short illness.Roland was born in Sanford, ME on December 8, 1916. He was the son of Perly and Etta (Stackpole) Adams. He attended Sanford schools, and was a graduate of the 1934 class of Sanford High School. On August 31, 1939 he married Priscilla Bouchard in Frenchville, ME. Roland proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of sergeant after serving during WWII in Italy. Following his time spent in the service Roland worked locally in the Sanford Mills, South Portland Shipyard, and retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1979 as general foreman pipefitter.Predeceasing Roland is his wife Priscilla, two brothers, Carl and Leslie, and two sisters, Evelyn Jellerson, and Gladys Hussey.Surviving are two sons, Robert R. Adams and his wife Michelene of Sanford, Raymond P. Adams of Kittery, two grandchildren, Jeffery R. Adams of Stoneham, MA, Julie A. Carlson of Pittsfield, MA, and six great-grandchildren.Service for Roland will be held at the convenience of the family.Arrangements were handled by the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home of Springvale, ME.To leave a message of condolence please use the "condolence" tab at the left.
