Roger H. Gagne

Roger H. Gagne 61 of Sanford, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.Mr. Gagne was born on February 17, 1944 in Biddeford to Conrad and Juliette Hanair Gagne. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army when he was a young man. He worked at the transfer station in North Berwick, up until about six years ago. He also worked for a long time doing carpentry work; he was very gifted with his hands. Roger enjoyed working around the house; he was constantly repairing, redoing or replacing something. He also enjoyed working on cars for people. He did this for little or no money, just for the sake of helping people. He was a very kind and generous man who was always eager to help whenever the opportunity presented itself. He worked as a volunteer fire fighter for a time in the town of Lebanon. Roger enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and growing vegetables in his garden. When he was younger was a Golden Gloves boxer. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and family man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. Gagne is predeceased by his parents and a son, Michael Gagne.Surviving are his wife, Jane Gagne of Sanford and his children, Conrad Gagne of Newfield, Margaret Stevens of Cape Neddick, Christine Gagne of Leavenworth, KS, John Gagne of Saco, Mark Gagne of Sanford, Amanda Gagne of Sanford and Renee Gagne of Sanford; three sisters, Jane Ylonen of Lyman, Shirley Ann Howes of Lynn, MA and Marie O'Toole of Biddeford; 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.A memorial service will take place on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford.
