ROGER J. DEMERSSanfordRoger J. Demers, 74, of Sanford, died unexpectedly at home on January 13.He was born in Sanford on November 16, 1931, a son of Joseph and Odette (Patrileau) Demers.He attended Sanford schools and was a 1952 graduate of Sanford High School.After high school, he served in the US Air Force.A lifelong resident of the area, he worked for Brooks Woolen Mill and then for 10 years at Pratt-Whitney in North Berwick, retiring in 1993.Survivors include 2 sons, Michael Demers of No. Yarmouth, Alan Demers of Troop, TX, 2 daughters, Jean Cote with whom he resided of Sanford, Judy Demers of Old Orchard Beach, a sister, Lucille Harris of North Berwick, 8 grandchildren and a great grandson.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at St. Ignatius Church. Burial will be in the spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Arrangements are through the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. Condolence may be expressed at the tab at left.
