Bob Warner, 75 of Freedom, NH died Tuesday evening, December 17, 2002 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after a long illness.Mr. Warner was born on May 12, 1927 in Altoona, PA. He was the son of Arthur and Nellie Warner. He attended schools in Melrose, MA and was a graduate of the Melrose H.S. class of 1944. Following graduation Mr. Warner enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp and proudly served his country during WWII. After his service to his country Mr. Warner went on to graduate magna cum laude with a bachelor degree in business from the Lafayette College of Easton, MA where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.For many years Mr. Warner worked for General Electric. Often he and his family moved across country while working for G.E. Over the years they lived in CA, NJ, NY, PA, MA, and Maine before settling down in Freedom, NH.Mr. Warner was a former member of the Lions Club, and the Sanford warrant committee during the 70's. He enjoyed canoeing, rafting, skiing, and just relaxing in Goose Pond on his inner tube. He also enjoyed collecting antique bottles and beer steins.Surviving is his wife of 53 years Dorothy "Dot" Warner of Freedom, NH; three sons, Dr. Donald and Claire Warner of Springvale, ME, Gary and Karen Warner of Springvale, ME, David and Kathleen Warner of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter Leslie Anne and Michael Parker of Lewiston, ME, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a brother Donald and Loraine Warner of Bishop, CA.Family and friends are invited to share in a reception from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday December 20th at the Heald Family Center, 574 Main St. Springvale, ME.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association, 163 Lancaster St. Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101.
