Robert J. "Bob" Waitt, 58, of Acton, died at the Goodall Hospital on November 26, 2011.Bob was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on April 26, 1953 to William and Janice (Fasbender) Waitt. He grew up in Nahant, Massachusetts and attended local schools, graduating from Lynn Classical High School in 1971. He moved to Maine in 1972. Bob had several jobs during his working life and had been employed at the Acton Elementary School for the past 11 years.Bob was a loving brother and uncle and was particularly fond of his nieces and nephews. He was an avid photographer and had a great sense of humor. He would often use his sense of humor and love of photography together by using Photoshop to make funny pictures of his friends and family. Bob loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time around his home by Square Pond. Bob will be remembered as a kind and loving man who was devoted to his family. He will be dearly missed. Surviving are four siblings, Carlene Doyle and her husband Ron of Sanford, William J. Waitt of Acton, Cheryl Greenleaf and her husband Brian of West Newfield and Stacey Johnson and her husband Dean of Springvale; six nieces and nephews, Erin Fraser of Sanford, Ryan Doyle of Old Orchard Beach, Abby Greenleaf of West Newfield, Sara Greenleaf of West Newfield, Dean Johnson of Springvale and Anna Johnson of Springvale; two great nieces, Elizabeth and Adeline Fraser, both of Sanford and his beloved cat, Shadow. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located on 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 30th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Acton Elementary School, 700 Milton Mills Road, Acton, Maine 04001.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
