Robert Vachon

Robert J. Vachon, 78, of Sanford, died June 7 at the Sanford Health Care Facility.He was born in Biddeford on June 11, 1926, the son of Victor and Marieange (Mercier) Vachon and attended local schools.He owned and operated Bob's Diner for over 20 years. He was then employed with the former Brooks Woolen Mill and the former Ames Department Store.Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Maryann (Labbe) Vachon of Sanford, a daughter, Christina Vachon-Sotir, her husband Gregory and their 2 children Nicholas and Sydney of Buxton, and 2 stepdaughters, Michelle Murray, her husband Jack and their daughter Heidi of North Berwick, and Mona Beauchesne of Sanford. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 9 :30 AM in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
