Robert F. Marshall, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, October 17, at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Sanford following a brief illness.
Robert was born on December 30, 1969, in Rochester, New Hampshire, to Harley and Estelle (Gagnon) Marshall. His family moved to Sanford soon after, where he grew up and attended local schools.
Robert met the love of his life, Cassie Tripp, while they were in high school. High school sweethearts, the two began their family at a young age, welcoming two daughters and building a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories together. The two have been married for 32 years and they would have been together for 40 years on October 20th.
Throughout his working life, Robert was employed by several local businesses, including Sprague Electric and Prime Tanning. He later went to work for carpenter Dan Calcaterra, where he learned the carpentry trade. The two developed a lasting friendship that continued throughout their lives. After gaining valuable experience, Robert ventured out on his own and established his business, Weather Tuff. Through hard work and dedication, he successfully built his business and continued working until his passing.
Robert was deeply involved in his community and generously gave his time to others. He coached basketball and soccer and served as a referee for SSYAA. One of his proudest memories was coaching alongside his daughter Amanda for a season, an experience that meant so much to him. He often spoke of his coaching years as some of the best times of his life. Robert also volunteered at Curtis Lake Church in Sanford, always willing to lend a hand wherever he was needed.
A passionate sports fan, Robert proudly supported New England teams, including the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing, and kayaking with his grandchildren.
Robert was a social person who loved being around others and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a devoted husband, an amazing father, and a loving grandfather. His grandchildren were his whole world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Robert also shared his cooking and baking skills with Cassie, and he took great pleasure in seeing her become a wonderful cook and enjoying the delicious meals she prepared.
Above all, Robert will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved, and his caring nature and willingness to help others touched the lives of many. His love, laughter, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
