Rita Evelyn Lowe

Rita E. Lowe, 82, of York Harbor, died Saturday, October 25, 2003 at York Hospital. She was born in Benedicta, Maine March 10, 1921 the daughter of Wilfred and Ursala (Madore) Martin and was raised and educated in Sanford.Mrs. Lowe worked as a local dressmaker, seamstress and in the footwear manufacturing. She enjoyed skiing and skating with her family in the winter months, and was a talented oil and watercolor painter. Survivors include her son: Bruce R. Lowe of West Hartford, Conn; one sister: Fedora Ness of Sanford and two brothers: Frank and Wilfred Jr. Martin both of Sanford. Also, one grandson: Christian Lowe of West Hartford, CT and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale with Rev. Fr. Timothy Nadeau, officiating. Committal prayers will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.There will be no calling hours.
