Richard C. Wyman

Richard Charles Wyman, 67, of Sanford, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday November 26, 2006 at his home. He was born in Dover, NH on September 12, 1939. He was raised by Wilbur and Rena Chadbourne in North Berwick where he attended local schools.Following graduation he proudly served in the US Navy. He worked as a welder and retired from Baker Company with more than 30 years of service. Dick loved hunting, fishing, and boating with the whole family. It was said he could fix anything with duct tape. Richard's children have many fond memories of the "Dump Runs" that they went on. He used to say " one man's junk is my treasure". Dick spent much of his free time welding and repairing his various cars and trucks. He was a self proclaimed Ford Man.This Christmas will be particularly difficult for the family. Dick's love of Christmas was legendary. He was generous to everyone he knew during this season. Many of his family remember his kindness and generosity in times of need.He leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline Wyman, sons, Daniel Wyman of Gettysburg, PA, and William Wyman of Kennebunk, one daughter, Sherri Fritz of Biddeford, five grandsons, five granddaughters. Richard had a deep impact on the lives of several of his nieces and nephews. He tried to be a surrogate father to the nephews that had lost their fathers. He is also survived by a close friend, Jeffrey "General" Staley.A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 9, 2006 at 3pm at the Rebekah Lodge, 31 Main Street in Kennebunk.>Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
