Richard B. Stanley

SANFORDRichard B. Stanley, 77, of Riverview Street, died Saturday December 22 at home. He was born June 7, 1924 in Norristown, PA, a son of John and Lydia Bittner Stanley.Mr. Stanley lived in Allentown, Pennsylvania before joining the Army at age eighteen. He served as a medic in Germany and during the Korean War. After the service, he resided near Eustis, Florida for 30 years. He was employed by a fruit packing company and held various jobs in the area. He moved to Maine in 1999.Mr. Stanley was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose.He is survived by his wife, Doris Pillsbury Stanley of Sanford; a son, Bobby R. Fullerton of Millington, TN; a brother, Ralph Stanley of Elmira, OR; four sisters, Dorothy Heller and Lidie McFadden of Norristown, PA and Idella Schnopsna and Mildred Stanley of North Wales, PA; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
