Richard A. Moody

Richard A. "Dick", "Tiny" Moody Jr.Richard A. Moody Jr., 56 years old, of Shapleigh, ME, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at his home.Mr. Moody was born in Sanford on October 24, 1947. He was the son of Richard A. Sr. and Mary (Rankin) Moody. He graduated from the Shapleigh School in 1962, and Sanford High School in 1966.For many years Dick worked with his father training harness horses at various New England racetracks and fairs. He ran the "Sandwich King" stand at the Acton Fair from 1976 through 1992, and also worked at Tilcon in Wells, ME as a paver operator.Dick loved to hunt and fish, and until recent years enjoyed fly tying and vegetable gardening. He was a member of the Lafayette and Wolves Clubs. For several years he played Santa Claus at children's parties.Surviving is his wife Margaret (O'Donnell) Moody, a daughter Jennifer, and a son Michael, all of Shapleigh. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles cousins, nieces, and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 18th from 2 to 4 PM and from 7 to 9 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St, Springvale, ME; where a funeral service will be held on Friday the 19th at 11:00 AM.
