Died unexpectedly in Johannesburg, South Africa, October 21, 2003.Dick was born on February 12, 1935 in Darby, PA. His parents Mary B. Logan and Samuel J. Logan predeceased him.After graduation from High School, he served in the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. Upon his return he attended the Museum School of Art in Philadelphia, PA.For many years Dick produced audio visual material, both commercial and educational. He moved to Maine in 1978 and began a second career as a sign maker. He also carved and gilded custom weathervanes. His work was handsome and finely crafted.Dick loved being in the outdoors, bird watching and observing nature in general. He especially enjoyed canoeing and watching the seasons change on Roberts Pond where he lived.Dick was a generous and cheerful person. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Judith Coldren Logan, his sister Mary Jane Gibson, of Houston, TX, three daughters; Lisa Gardner of Biddeford, ME, Jennifer Hair of Lancaster, TX, Elizabeth Branson of Austin, TX, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. As he had requested, there will be no funeral. Donations in his memory may be made to The Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 43, W. Kennebunk, ME 04094.
