Cumberland – Rebecca Hauk, 61, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Cumberland. She was born on September 4, 1963, in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late Coin and Helga (Pfersdorff) Hauk.
Rebecca moved to Maine in 1977 when her father was transferred with the Secret Service. She quickly fell in love with the state and made it her lifelong home. She attended the University of Southern Maine, earning a degree in Political Science, and furthered her studies at Stern University in New York.
A passionate and proud Republican, Rebecca was actively engaged in politics from a young age, serving as a teen delegate at the 1980 National Republican Convention.
Rebecca built a successful career in banking, ultimately serving as Vice President at People’s Bank, now TD Bank. Her work took her all over the state, and she especially enjoyed her visits to the County.
She loved to travel and explored Germany, France, Mexico, and the Caribbean. She was also deeply connected to her family, sharing a special bond with her parents. She cherished antiquing trips with her mother and even purchased a home across the street from them in Scarborough.
Rebecca found joy and companionship in Shirley, Maine, where she spent time with her dear friend Floyd, who was the sunshine of her life.
She lived a good life.
Arrangements are under the director of Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway. To view Rebecca’s memorial page or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.ConroyTullyWalker.com.
A private graveside service will take place in the Spring of 2025; Rebecca will be laid to rest alongside her beloved parents at Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough.

She was a dear friend . I’m going to miss her and our conversations over the phone and through messenger. RIP, now you are reunited with your beloved parents.
So sorry to hear this. After high school I got to know Rebecca better while working at Maine National Bank. She was such a hoot! Always a joy to be around. I will miss our on-line chats. Condolences to her family and friends.
Rest in Peace Rebecca ❤️
So sorry to hear this. Sending thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
I hope you find the peace in death that you could not find in life. Now it’s time to rest my dear sister.
Danny
I worked with Rebecca at TD Bank and really enjoyed it. We always had fun and informative conversations. I was so sad to see that she passed away. I hope that those who were close to her always remember the good times.
I’ve just recently learned of Rebecca’s passing. You were such a dear friend Rebecca and I was trying to notify you that I was coming back to the Maine for a visit and wanted to see you. It had been awhile, I’m so sorry. I’m so devastated to learn that I won’t be able to see you, hear your voice, your laugh, you telling me about your paintings, antiques trips, etc, and to see if you still have the one I really liked. It must have gotten difficult to get around, I’m so sorry my friend. My heart breaks that I wasn’t there to help you. I miss you so very much and I should have reached out sooner. The last five years I was ptsd from my ex, long story. Love you forever my friend.
To Danny- I’ve never met you but I know all about you. I’m so sorry for your loss. She was such a wonderful person and she loved and admired you so much! She was proud of you! I’m also sorry for the loss of your parents. If you can- please find me on fb- I’m in WA! I have a lot of questions. Thank you.
